Sioux Falls REALTORS® Offer Education for Buyers, Sellers

By HOM Editorial Team
July 2015

Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is seeing increasing growth as its growing healthcare-services and credit-card-processing industries and the state’s absence of personal income taxes continue to draw new residents. In response, the REALTORS® Association of the Sioux Empire is helping home buyers and home sellers navigate the area’s rapidly expanding housing market.

The REALTORS® association has partnered with the Sioux Empire Housing Partnership and Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota to assist first-time home buyers. Classes are offered on topics such as how to save for a home, how to finance a home, and how to budget to maintain a home. The REALTORS® association maintains a website that gives consumers advice on such topics as the owner-occupied tax deduction, how to choose a REALTOR®, and how to work successfully with a REALTOR®.

For sellers, the association offers education on the types of improvements to make prior to placing a home on the market. This education focuses on cost-effective improvements versus improvements that will not see a return on investment in a home sale.

The REALTORS® Association of the Sioux Empire sees a housing market that will continue to expand as new industries arrive and grow in the area, and its educational efforts will help both buyers and sellers meet the real estate challenges ahead.
