Omaha REALTORS® Serve Their Community
The Omaha Area Board of REALTORS® is dedicated to the Omaha community. This dedication is demonstrated through its support of programs and projects intended to benefit the citizens of the Omaha area.
Every year, the Omaha Area Board of REALTORS’® sponsors, promotes, participates in and donates to community projects that benefit residents, advance diversity goals, and defend and preserve fair housing.
One focus of the Board has been to work with Rebuilding Together Omaha, an organization that brings together communities and volunteers to improve the houses of low-income homeowners. Rebuilding Together Omaha focuses on a group of selected homes in the Omaha area and works to make them better places to live. Since the group was formed in 1996, Rebuilding Together has made improvements on about 2,000 homes.
On April 25, 2015, members of the Board volunteered their time to help Rebuilding Together Omaha. The volunteers planted flowers and shrubs at selected houses. Such projects not only make the improved homes more attractive places, they also help revitalize entire neighborhoods. This year, 20 houses were improved by the helping hands of REALTORS®.
The Omaha community has always been great, but the Omaha Area Board of REALTORS® is constantly striving to help make the community the best it can be by promoting these types of improvement projects.
