REALTORS® Help Nevada Homeowners Avoid Foreclosure

By HOM Editorial Team
July 2015

During the recession, Nevada’s housing market was hit particularly hard. The Nevada Association of REALTORS® is happy to report that the market has been steadily improving. Home prices across the state have been rising rapidly since 2012. Today’s median home price is up more than 5 percent statewide from May 2014.

One way that the Nevada Association of REALTORS® has helped keep these numbers moving in the right direction has been by providing homeowners with access to information about avoiding foreclosure. This information is provided through the Association’s member REALTORS® and the Association’s website. The REALTORS® Association website, nvar.org, boasts an entire section dedicated to consumers. It includes information on foreclosure alternatives, such as loan modifications, short sales and deeds in lieu of foreclosure.

Fortunately, today fewer Nevadans find themselves in need of foreclosure prevention resources. For those who do, the education they receive from a REALTOR® can help them to avoid credit ruin, steer clear of scams, and even keep their homes.
