Take a minute now to thank Congress for passing the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
Washington state, including Snohomish County, has been hard-hit by a lack of affordable housing opportunities. According to the U.S. Census, in 2018, nearly 99,000 households in Snohomish County were cost-burdened—meaning they spend more than 30% of their income on housing costs. And that number has only increased since then!
Seniors who want to downsize and stay in the community they call home have few options.
Young people can’t afford to live in the county they grew up in.
Low-income families lack access to quality housing.
Everyone benefits from more affordable housing opportunities. Having access to quality, affordable housing is critical for economic stability and future mobility, as well as healthy, thriving communities.

Snohomish County needs more affordable housing opportunities. In recent years, housing throughout our county has become less and less affordable, resulting in increased homelessness, fewer housing options for nearly all income levels, and too many barriers to homeownership. We need your help to identify solutions that will unlock the door to more affordable housing options in our neighborhoods.
I want to thank you in advance for supporting efforts that make Snohomish County a wonderful place for everyone to live, work, and play.
