St. Louis REALTORS® Promote Diversity in Homeownership

By HOM Editorial Team
July 2015

Home Ownership

The St. Louis Association of REALTORS® is committed to making its city a welcoming and affordable place to live for all people. Home buyers and home sellers benefit from the association’s many programs and resources and dedication to the community.

Every year the association sponsors “It’s a Big, Big World,” a community event that advances diversity initiatives. The event is only one part of the association’s efforts to end residential segregation — defined as a lack of diversity based on race, ethnicity or income. Community leaders, REALTORS® and the public come together at the event to celebrate, explore, recognize and promote the benefits of diversity in residential neighborhoods.

The St. Louis Association of REALTORS® also created and maintains a consumer-oriented, informational website that provides essential information for home buyers and sellers on such topics as current housing trends, housings costs and market conditions. The website provides users access to “Down Payment Resources,” a Web-based program that matches eligible buyers with government-funded programs for down payment assistance. Most residential property listings in the St. Louis area may be eligible for one or more down-payment assistance programs.

Members of the St. Louis Association of REALTORS® are committed to the community, and they work hard to put that commitment into action to make St. Louis a great place to live.
