Because of the way Kansas’ tax laws are written, many Kansas property owners are paying more in taxes due to changes to the federal tax law that President Trump signed in 2017.
Federal tax reform in 2017 doubled the standard deduction, however, the State of Kansas did not. Legislators must act to preserve these incentives.
Because of changes made by Congress to the Federal tax code, many Kansas taxpayers can no longer take the deductions they have received for decades on their state income taxes.
The Kansas mortgage fee is being phased out, thanks to the lobbying efforts of the Kansas Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®.
