REALTORS® ARE ADVOCATES FOR YOU

REALTORS® care about our community because we are your neighbors with deep roots in the communities in which we live.

As your advocates, we inform and educate consumers about the complex real estate issues affecting the Pioneer Valley such as:

HOUSING AFFORDABILITY – A lack of housing inventory on the market and big demand for housing can make buying a home challenging. Communities of all sizes and levels of prosperity can be impacted. REALTORS® encourage local governments to make zoning decisions that foster more housing to meet the demand.

INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT – Infrastructure improvements enhance property values by improving the quality of life in communities and business districts. Constraints on funding for transportation projects of all types, particularly those that contribute to walkable, stable, and vibrant neighborhoods, may negatively affect property values and inhibit development. REALTORS® believe in smart infrastructure to reduce traffic, connect outlying areas to job opportunities and promote walkability.

PRIVATE PROPERTY RIGHTS/OWNER RIGHTS – REALTORS® discourage and educate against legislation that would place unnecessary restrictions on property owners rights that would keep them from realizing the highest and best use of their property. Unnecessary legislation could also restrict economic growth.

REDUCING BLIGHT – Vacant, abandoned and deteriorating properties negatively impact surrounding home values and impact the quality of life in our neighborhoods. REALTORS® can partner with cities to address this problem.

BROADBAND INTERNET ACCESS – A new report from the FCC estimates that between 14 and 24 million Americans still lack access to broadband internet service. Better access can improve property values, expand business growth, and create jobs. REALTORS® encourage decision-makers to close the digital divide and strengthen our economy!
