Kanawha Valley Board of REALTORS® Educates the Public About Credit Scores
The Kanawha Valley Board of REALTORS® in West Virginia is an organization that advocates on the local level for many different issues, including property rights, flooding rezoning, and other consumer protections. The Board has also taken the lead in educating consumers about credit scores and identity theft.
The Board offers classes on financial safety for all consumers in the region. These classes cover topics such as identity theft and how to protect against it.
Another popular and useful class is Credit 101, which covers credit scores, how to evaluate your credit score, and how to protect your overall credit, especially when purchasing a home.
Part of the reason behind the push for credit education has been the increase in rental properties due to many consumers facing financial setbacks from the recession and housing crisis. The class offered by the REALTORS® helps consumers reassess their credit scores and understand the importance of maintaining and building a credit score when looking to buy a home.
Consumer protection is the focus of the Kanawha Valley Board of REALTORS®, whether it is training for identity safety or understanding credit.
