Houston REALTORS® Use Social Media to Keep in Touch With Consumers
In a housing market driven by a long-standing oil industry and associated manufacturing businesses, Houston, Texas, has experienced its first fall in home sales in at least six months. The Houston Association of REALTORS® sees this normalization of the housing market as an opportunity to advocate for the area’s consumers.
The Association has been aggressive in using social media to stay connected with consumers, creating a network of friendly media through its website and the HAR.com mobile app. The free app, available for iPhones and Android phones, lets consumers and Houston REALTORS® actively search for homes to rent or buy in the Houston area.
Users of the app have access to more than 8 million property-tax and valuation records, and information on thousands of neighborhoods and subdivisions. The app is also part of a citywide initiative that recently created a “My City” app. The My City app also connects to the HAR.com residential property search engine, as well as search engines for commercial and leased property. There is also a connection to MLS listing information, if the user subscribes to the service.
Staying connected is vital in today’s world. The Houston Association of REALTORS® is making its connectivity work for consumers.
